Flag Football: OHS 46, GHS 0

The rivalry flag football game between Orestimba and Gustine on Sept. 4 turned out to be a lopsided contest as the Warriors silenced the Reds, 46-0.

Orestimba continued their winning ways on Sept. 5 when they handed the Patterson Tigers a 26-0 defeat. Orestimba now has a record of 7-4 on the season.

Gustine’s record now stands at 0-4 after a 33-0 loss at the hands of the East Union Lancers in a non-league contest on Sept. 6.

 

OHS Girls’ Volleyball

The Warriors volleyball squad netted up an impressive number of victories over the last week, including several during tournament play.

On Sept. 3 the team won three straight sets over Livingston 25-4, 25-22, and 25-8.

It was another three straight winning sets for Orestimba when they took on Dos Palos Sept. 5. The squad posted scores of 25-22, 25-20 and 25-23.

On Sept. 6, the Warriors competed in a neutral tournament match. Their first game against Buhach Colony was a defeat for Orestimba, losing two sets 25-17 and 25-22. They next played Mariposa county, losing 2-1. Mariposa county won sets one (25-19) and three (15-12) while Orestimba claimed victory in set two by a score of 25-22. Orestimba won their next match against Gregori High 2-1 by scores of 25-21 and 15-10 in sets one and three. Gregori won set two 25-17. In their final game of the day Orestimba beat Edison 2-0 with scores of 26-24 and 25-16.

The Warriors were back in tournament play on Sept. 7, winning three of the four games. Their first match up was against Golden Valley and Orestimba took both sets with scores of 29-27 and 25-19. They next played Chowchilla and won the match 2-1. Orestimba won sets two (26-24) and three (15-8). Chowchilla nabbed the first set 25-22. In their third game, Orestimba defeated Los Banos 2-0 with scores of 25-20 and 25-18. The final match saw the Warriors fall to Mariposa County 2-0 with scores of 25-20 and 25-22.

 

Gustine Girls’ Volleyball

The Reds fell to Big Valley Christian 3-0 on Sept. 4. The Reds lost by scores of 25-5, 25-7 and 25-14.
