Reds’ boys’ volleyball can’t break streak

The Gustine Reds picked up their 13th and 14th straight losses this last week, falling in straight sets to Stone Ridge Christian and the Waterford Wildcats.

Gustine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Stone Ridge Christian Knights.

On Thursday, the team notched up another loss, this time at the hands of Waterford, 3-0. They fell to the Wildcats 25-10, 25-15 and 25-6.

The two latest defeats dropped the reds down to 0-7 for the season.

Gustine has three games left in the season. They’ll play Big Valley Grace at home at 6 p.m. on April 7; a home game against Delhi at 6 p.m. on April 8 and an away game at Stone Ridge Christian at 6 p.m. on April 17.

 

Orestimba lost against Ripon Christian back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Warriors came up short against the Knights, falling 3-0. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-12, 25-14.

Orestimba's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Ripon Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-8.

Looking ahead, Orestimba will host Escalon at 6 p.m. on April 7. The Warriors are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. After the Cougars, Orestimba has four games left in the regular season. They’ll face Riverbank in an away game at 6 p.m. on April 14; a home game against Ripon at 6 p.m. on April 16; an away game at Hilmar at 6 p.m. on April 21; and a home game against Big Valley Grace at 6 p.m. April 23.
