Warriors baseball still winless in league

NEWMAN, Calif. – In two Trans-Valley League baseball games last week, Orestimba was hoping to snap a six-game losing streak.

Taking on Ripon Christian High’s squad in a home-and-home series, Orestimba remained winless in league play. The latest game was on April 17 on the Knights’ field, when RC recorded a 17-4 win over Orestimba (0-10 in the TVL, 3-21 overall).

The Warriors had five hits from five different players in this contest. Landon Marcotte, along with Orestimba teammates Colby Cabral, Payton Marcotte, Ray Montes and Richie Rivas had a hit each.

Ripon Christian had 14 hits. Josh Crivello had three hits for the Knights, while four of his teammates had two hits each.

In the first game of the home-and-home series on the Warriors’ field on April 16, Orestimba scored its lone run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Donovan Torres had the RBI for the Warriors.

Orestimba had three hits in this contest. Kevin Moreno, along with Cabral and Montes, had a hit each.

The Knights came away with 12. Max Anderson had three hits for RC, while two teammates had two hits each.

The last time Orestimba won a contest was on March 31, when it posted a 19-15 win over Mendota in a non-league game.

Upcoming games

Orestimba will play at Escalon on Wednesday. Then the home-and-home series is scheduled on Friday. Both games have a 4 p.m. start.
