Orestimba Baseball
The Warriors baseball team had an unfortunate away non-conference loss against the Golden Valley Cougars. Falling to the Cougars 1-10. The them only scored a single run in the first inning. Next, the Warriors travel away, for an away game against Linden, at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Then the Warriors will move to Hilmar, starting their matchup at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lastly, the Warriors travel away again, for a matchup against Turlock Christian, at 7 p.m.
Orestimba Softball
The Warriors headed into a non-conference matchup against the Turlock Bulldogs and won, 7-4. Advancing their record to 1-0 for the season. A triumphant victory for the Warriors, although it is early in the season. Mariah Avila (33) would lead the Warriors in runs with three in total. This week, the Warriors stay home, for a matchup against Los Banos (1-0), beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Then the Warriors begin a non-conference tournament, at Gustine, against Gregori High School, starting at 5:30 p.m.
Orestimba Tennis
Orestimba started the 2024 tennis season strong Friday with a 7-2 victory in their first match. The Warriors were hosted by Hughson for the non-league competition. Two matches went to a tie-breaker decision with the Huskies winning one. Five of the seven OHS wins were won in straight sets, a sixth was played in an 8-game pro set due to darkness. The Warriors are scheduled to play at Delhi to begin league play on Thursday. March 1 they plan to hit the courts in the Riverbank tournament. Their first home match is set for March 7 vs. Denair.
Gustine Tennis
Reds Tennis will open their 2024 season this week, hosting Ripon Christian Thursday followed by an away game against Denair on March 4 and another in Waterford on March 7.
Orestimba Track
On Friday, the Orestimba Warriors boy’s and girl’s track team participated in the 5th Annual Tiger Rustbuster Invite, in Patterson, the Warriors participated in relays, long jumps, shot put, and even dashes.
