The Newman Fire Station responded to 10 calls for service during the week of March 29 to April 3, The calls included seven Emergency Medical Services calls, one mutual aid call, one public assistance call and one smoke check call.
At 12:55 a.m. on April 2, the Newman Station was dispatched for a mutual aid request to a structure fire in Patterson, CA. On arrival, the fire crews were assigned to salvage and overhaul. Two fatalities were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Stanislaus County Fire Investigation Unit.
